Thankful November Day 9

Today I am thankful for reading. I am happy I learned how to read and now I am able to read novels that I enjoy. My most favorite are romance, erratic, suspense, mystery, true crime and chick lit.

I love getting lost in a good book! I wish I had more time to read, maybe someday I will. I even have done some book reviews, so be sure to check them out if you like to read!

Thankful November Day 7

Today I am thankful for my iPhone. Yes, I said iPhone! While I know not everyone has an iPhone and there is that whole debate with the iPhone and android users, I am still thankful that we can pretty much use the internet anywhere we go with our phones.

Think about how much it has changed over the last 10 years. Many things are right at our fingertips now and can be checked within minutes. Need to know how to get to the park? Need to know where your loved one is? Need to know how much money you have in your checking? Need to talk to someone, but you also want to see their face? All of that can be done now! For that I am thankful for iPhones and technology!

Thankful November Day 6

Today I am thankful for my car. I am lucky enough to have heat, air conditioning and bluetooth. While it might not be my dream car, it is mine. I own it and it safely gets me from a to b!

My husband and my car are both paid off. Mine was first then his was just this past month. He has a great car too! He even has an Instagram for his Car!

We are hoping that our next vehicle we can pay cash for. I really like not having to make a car payment.

Thankful November Day 5

Today I am thankful for my house, my home. I get to come home after work and be comfortable. I know not everyone has that and I am very thankful for it. When it is cold outside I have heat and when it is hot outside I have the air conditioner. I have a kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedrooms and so much love inside of our home. I am very lucky to have a place to call my own. I do not rent, I own. It is mine, I can decorate how I want. My husband and I have remodeled the entire place to make it ours.

Dinning Room
Kitchen to the left and standing desk in the center.
Kitchen
Living room.

My family and I live in a condo and we have common grounds that we can play on. We do not have to cut the grass we have people do that and when I was single that was super helpful because ya know cutting grass is hard work!

To me there is a difference between the place you live and a home. A home is what is inside and no I don’t mean the furniture I mean the people inside. The ones you connect with daily. I am very lucky to have a loving husband and son!

Our bedroom
Ethans bedroom
Relaxing and taking a break from the blues game.
Hubby’s man cave! 🤣

Thanks for taking the time to read. What are you thankful for today?

Book Review: Whiskey Surprises

Whiskey Surprises

by Jaqueline Snowe (Classic Curves #1)

Publication date: June 18th 2019 Genres: Adult, Contemporary,

Romance Description:

Five days of crazy no-strings sex. That was the deal. But when feelings sneak in, the risks are too high…

Fern Laughlin prefers two things to help deal with stress—whiskey or sex. The mysterious, handsome stranger at the hotel bar is the perfect combination and the best distraction before the night of her big event. After all, her job’s at stake—she has to raise revenue by five percent or she’s out of a career.

Rylan Cirula despises events like Silvas car shows but his late father’s wish was to get his ’67 Meridian certified in every category. Rylan follows through and is surprised to learn his amazing hookup was the vice-president of the company—and she’s not happy when he pursues her the next day.

She can’t afford any distractions during the show, but Rylan can’t get her out of his mind. She doesn’t care about his money and he doesn’t care about her aversion to relationships. Five days of crazy no-strings-attached sex. That’s the deal they strike.

But neither is prepared for feelings to find their way into the bedroom…

My Review:

Once I read what this book was going to be about. I started it right away and didn’t stop until I finished it. It only took me two days to finish. There was days of hot steamy sex, car shows, and maybe even a love story. Will Ryland and Fern just have 5 days of sex and no strings attacked? I was surprised to find out that the location of the book is right here in St. Louis where I LIVE! I knew exactly where the author was talking about on some of locations in the book. I enjoy books that you can use your imagination and picture everything that is happening. It was even better since I knew some of the locations that the author was talking about. Whiskey Surprises is a 5 star review for me. OH my did you see the cover.. nothing more screams sex. Not just sex, but HOT, Steamy sex.

Thanks for reading my review and I hope you enjoy the book too!

An Unexpected Turn Book Review and Giveaway

An Unexpected Turn Book Review

What the book is about:

“When I take a good look at my reflection, I’m surprised that the face looking back at me in the mirror doesn’t look different than the one I’ve seen staring back at me for the last 27 years. I see the same brown hair and brown eyes, the same heart-shaped face, the same upturned nose. I feel like I should look different. That my face should show the upheaval and the weight of the last day, that it should somehow show how much has happened, how the course of my life has changed, but everything is still the same.”

Life is rarely ever predictable. It is rarely even kind. But… sometimes… just sometimes, those unexpected turns that throw you into the chaos and upheaval of loss lead you to the exact place you need to be.

This is a story about love, but it isn’t a romance. It is about holding on when it would be easier to let go, about fighting for those that can’t fight for themselves. It is about finding and creating family through the unpredictable, beautiful mess that is life.

My Review

I love everything about this book. It was written very well and it held my interest. I read it in a weekend! There were unexpected twist and turns. I needed to know what was going to happen next! This is a true love story that is very real and unpredictable. I personally even felt connected to characters in this novel that I needed to know what was going to happen next.

I do recommended reading this book. I think even if you are not into love stories this one will keep your interest and make you wonder what you would do in the same situation. This book can and might make you feel emotional, but isn’t that what we want!

Biography

TJ is a slightly sane artist, amateur photographer, book addict, wife and mom who has more hobbies than she can count, so it is beyond shocking that she manages to find time to do any of them, let alone most of them and still have time to do anything else. Of all the talents she claims, writing wasn’t one of them until her muse dropped the idea for a book on her head.

Giveaway

TJ gifted this book to, so I plan on gifting it to a reader! Thank you for reading and please comment and share this post to be entered!

The only thing I ask is that you share it after you read it also and update me with photo’s of who has read the book. Please sign the inside with your name and/or anything else you might want to add to it.

This will run from May 31,2019- June 30,2019.

The Road to Forever Book Review, Author Interview and Giveaway

What the Book is About:

Hannah Gomez has been in love with Ian Salerno since she was sixteen. When her assertive flirtations with him at Sawyer and Karina Bank’s wedding leads to a drunken romp in the bedroom, Hannah is mortified, embarrassed, and no longer a virgin. Determined to put the biggest mistake of her life behind her before he awakens, Hannah escapes with whatever pride she has left.

Ian, Hannah’s late brother-in-law’s best friend, has sworn off relationships forever. Hannah has always been in the background-and someone he has never really noticed much-until now. But after he realizes it was her who shared a passionate rendezvous with him at the wedding, Ian finds he is unable to resist her. But there’s only one problem: he is battling more personal demons than he would like to admit. Now only time will tell if fate has made a mistake by throwing them together or if they will somehow manage to overcome their challenges and find true love.

The Road to Forever is a tale of a young couple’s journey together through obstacles and personal demons after their destinies are intertwined at a wedding.

My Review:

The Road to Forever is the second book in the series (Road Series)! I already felt like I knew most of the characters and I was even more excited to get to know more of the characters in a more in depth love story.  After reading the first book I was so excited to get the second that I read it in a weekend and then I let my mom barrow it to read. We both loved it and do recommend reading it. I was happy to read that this book takes place right after the first, so it was like reading in real life. In this book there were twist and turns that I did not see coming that kept me interested. It go steamy hot, sadness, fights, disagreements, and something that everyone loves, LOVE!

Author Interview: Marla Machado

When did you decide to start write this book?  I didn’t so much decide to start writing a book as it picked me.  I was going through some stuff in my life at the time when I started The Road Back and for me reading has always been my escape, one night after maybe a smidge too much wine, Karina and Sawyer started talking to me.  Most people would seek help with that sort of thing, I decided to write them down.
Did you know what your book was going to be able before you started writing or what was that process like?  Not a clue.  I just started writing and scenarios just started coming to me little by little.
What do you like to read about?  I love a happy ending so I tend to choose mostly romances, but I’ll pick up a non fiction book if the topic interests me, most recently I read the book The Operator by Robert O’Neill, the Navy Seal that killed Osama Bin Laden, and when it comes out I’m going to read Howard Stern’s new book, I’m a huge fan of his and this is a book of mostly his interviews I’m really looking forward to it I love history so my first romances were historicals. I also read recently the book James Patterson wrote about Aaron Hernandez.
How did you decide on your cover?  I didn’t want your typical naked chest on the cover, I know it sells books, as one blogger told me, but I’ve always prided myself on deviating from the pack, and since my book is called The Road Back, I wanted something that would show a road, I saw this picture and just fell in love.  For the Road to Forever, there’s a scene where they’re at a lake so I wanted to portray that in the cover and I just again fell in love with this cover.
When writing did you write on paper first or the computer?  iPad actually, then my computer.  I had a blog for a little while where I would review novels and then recommend a wine to pair with that book, I put the first two very raw chapters up on that blog until a friend told me to put this to a word program and flesh it out because she really felt I had something here.
What is your writing process?  I just write.  Then I take a break and go back and flesh out what I’ve written, then write more then flesh that out … etc.
How many unpublished or half written books do you have?  I have one novella i’m writing that is going to be spin off of my Road Series but that’s it right now, I started book 3 but it’s in it’s very infancy right now.
Did you do any research before you wrote your book? No even a little.
Do you plan on writing a 3rd book and any juicy details you would like to share about it?  I do!  Book 3 is going to be about Emily, Karina’s best friend.  She’s not what you think she is and she’s got some serious baggage … 🙂
Do you plan on writing another series after this one? I do – I have an idea about a set of quadruplets that could not be more different from one another if they tried.
What is your favorite part of your book and what part did you have the most difficulty with?  My favorite is always the happy ending – life can get so serious sometimes and it’s not always fun – but in my books I can totally control the outcome.  I guess the most difficult is knowing when to let go.  I always think to my self “hmm totally could have made that way better”.
What do you like to do for fun?  Reading of course, we live in a lake town so going out on the lake is always fun, going out and having a nice dinner with my husband, hiking, watching movies and spending time with friends.
You can find this book on amazonBarnes and Nobel and Kobo ,
Marla was kind enough to give this book to me for a review, so I will be doing a giveaway! The only requirement I have once you get it is that you have to sign the book and send a photo over so I can update the photo. and keep it going!
