February Goals, 2019

January was a great month! Spent lots of time with family and enjoyed my birthday! (Post about birthday coming later!)

I stared blogging more in January and learned that I am doing it differently and liking it!

So, I will make goals for February and future months. I heard if you write them out it helps achieve them!

Blogging goals:

1. Make a #lovestory series with other

bloggers for the entire month of

February.

2. Do a book review.

3. Post a blog Monday, Wednesday and

Friday.

4. Get more blog friends on twitter and

Instagram.

Personal goals:

1. Go through all clothing and get rid of

everything that does not fit. Too big.

Too small. Should I do an inventory

and make outfits?

2. Read at least one book this month.

My goal for the year is 10.

3. Drink less soda, more water.

4. Work out for 30 minutes at least 3

times a week, maybe more!

5. Less junk food, more healthy!

Thank you for reading. What are your goals?

Love Story- Guest Blogger

newdesign_1_original_cmbufdpb6ga(1)

Colt Sawyer

I never thought I’d be that girl. I mean, I obviously knew I’d love my child but I always tended to give an -eye roll- to the sappy post moms would write about their children.

Love never came easy to me. I grew up in home where love was shown by being called names and being abused. I put myself in relationships that were similar to my home life. That quickly went south and I  just gave up on “love” completely. I never really trusted anyone. There were never really people that I knew had my back 24/7 and truly deeply loved me.

Life was getting tough for me. I was broke, in legal trouble, lost my drivers license, working 40 plus hours a week to never see a paycheck, I spent what little money I did have on partying and alcohol. Which, does not solve your problems. My depression and anxiety were at an all time high and I barely even loved myself. I didn’t take care of myself and I needed to grow up.

Out of nowhere; I decided to move from the town and I had lived in my whole life. A fresh start is what I thought I needed. Everything was going great and then boom, two pink lines. Now here I was, pregnant by a  guy I had barely even been dating. I was lost. I had no idea what I was going to do. This is not what was intended. I refused to give up though.

My pregnancy was 100% the hardest period of my life. I suffered from very bad pregnancy depression, my relationship was not working out like I wanted it to, my dad went to prison, my youngest sister passed away, and my younger brother attempted suicide and became 100% blind.

All I wanted was to stay calm for my son. They’ll tell you a million times that stress is bad for your baby. That’s exactly what I did. Jessica, 3 years ago would have straight up had a mental breakdown. I’m scared to even think about how I would have handled that time in my life if I wasn’t carrying my son. I was still so sad and angry though. That time of my life is still haze to be honest.

Then August 3rd came and my 8lb 8oz beautiful baby boy was born. The best mistake that had ever happened to me. From that moment, I felt the love I had needed my whole life. It’s so hard to explain but it’s magical.

He’s 18 months old now and our love grows stronger every day. He is momma’s boy. He’s helped me grow so much as a person. I’ve become stronger and more patient. I’ve learned to appreciate the love that people give me and not expect some over exaggerated love. I’ve learned to forgive. I’ve learned to smile.

My son came in a period of my life when I need him most. He’s changed me as a person. He makes me have my act together and strive to be the best I can be. He makes me love myself more than I ever have before. He saved my life.  He made my life complete. He will always be my true love story.

Cold…. Get a Hand Warmer

Do you ever wake up mad or really pissed off?
I get really upset, mad, frustrated when I wake up and know its cold out.
I hate going outside when it is not at normal temperature. By normal temperature, I mean where I can wear a hoodie, T-shirt or jeans or short. I do not like having to start my car 15 minutes before I leave, so that when I get in the car it is, maybe, warm.
This morning when I first got in my car it say -4 degrees out! Not only was it cold, but are power went out. Luckily it was not out for very long, but I had about had a panic attack thinking about my husband working from home, our son, and our dog and cat. I was so happy when it came back on, it was like a mood changer!
Now this sounds like a lot of complaining, but it is how I really feel.
My husband and I have talked about moving somewhere warm and I am sure we will in the future.
I received a hand warmer as a gift from my husband a few years ago and it has been a lifesaver during the winter months! I highly recommend getting one! They can be found on amazon. Sometimes when I have on gloves and I’m driving I put it between my legs and it’s kinda like having heated seats.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you are staying warm if you are in the colder weather and if you like the colder weather… tell me some of your tricks on how to, too.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Rainbow Colors

This weeks topic is Rainbow Colors! You must have at least 4 colors.

When I first read about 4 colors I knew right away which photos I wanted to use.

Randy, Ethan and I went Chicago last year for a long weekend and saw some amazing street art.

Which one is your favorite?

Don’t forget to check out: Check out Cee’s Foto Challenge.

Thanks for reading and taking time to look at the photos.

Music Monday

Happy Monday! Over the weekend my husband and I watched the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. It is a biography about Freddy Mercury’s life after joining the band Queen. I thought the movie was great. It made me think of my DAD! HAHA! When I was little he used to listen to Queen and other rock bands all the time in the car and even at home. He has a record player and would blare it. He used to work nights when my sister and I were younger and he would come home and put on his big headphone and listen to music. My mom used to come down the stairs and he would be dance and playing air guitar like a mad man! I could only imagine what it looked like. I am sure it was super funny and cute at the same time.
I will attach youtube videos of some of my favorite songs and what the remind me of.
Obviously you have to love Bohemian Rhapsody! It reminds me of the movie Wayne’s World. Plus, it is just an all around amazing song. In the movie it was great to see how they worked on this song together.
We will, We will, ROCK YOU!!!!! How can you not say the title without singing it and stomping your feet. This song right here takes me back to hockey games, school music class, and just all around fun!
Somebody to Love is just an all around great song!

What is your favorite Queen song?
Let’s hear them!

Sunday Stills: Night

Night, you used to scare me.

Nightmares. Flashbacks.

Are the doors locked?

Dad’s home, right?

He won’t come back.

You are safe.

He will no longer hurt you.

You will be fine.

Don’t tell me how I should be.

I am me.

Don’t yell at me.

I’m lost.

I’m good now.

Night used to scare me.

Entry for Sunday Stills hosted by Hugh’s Views and News.

Every Day

Every single day I listen to a podcast! Most of the time it is on my way to work or on my way home. If I have time throughout the day to listen, I will also listen then too. Today I will make a list of the ones that I have already listened to and I think you would enjoy too.

How it is by Hello Sunshine with Reese Witherspoon and Diane Guerrero! This podcast is by far my most favorite! It has made me laugh, cry and just feel empowered! I recommended it to everyone! The first season is over, so I cannot wait and hope for a second!

The Minimalists with Josh and Ryan. They talk to us about how to live life minimally! I have decided that I too would like to do that, but not to the extreme that they are. Well, I wouldn’t call them extreme, but I for sure will have more “stuff” than they would. They have been pod-casting for a while now and I still have not finished all of their episodes, because I am a podcast bouncer!

This is Love is a podcast about LOVE! There are 6 episodes and each one is a little different than the other. I think the 2nd and 3rd are my favorite of the 6 episodes, but I recommend listening to all! Another season will came out in the fall. Hopefully they will have more than six episodes!

Coffee Convos hosted by Kail Lowery from Teen Mom 2 and  Lindsie Chrisley of USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best. They are both pretty funny and its nice to see a totally different side of their lives! I look forward to it every Wednesday! They talk about stars, motherhood and being totally opposite.

Ear Hustle between Nigel Poor, a Bay Area visual artist, Earloone Woods, who is currently incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison and was co-founded with fellow inmate Antwan Williams. This podcast keeps it real! They tell you all about prison life and I never thought it would be so interesting, but it really is! Oh, and the music and beats on it are amazing!

Caught is about the juvenile detention system and how it is being a kid/teen there. You get to hear about how it has change their lives forever! I will never forget the episode where one of the kids said that they just want someone to love them, even if its for a second! How sad! Gosh, it makes me want to help them so much more!

Its happening with Snooki and her gay best friend Joey! They are so funny together! They talk about celebs and anything and everything!

Dirty John I binge listened to over a weekend! It was interesting it is about a successful woman that found a man that was everything she was hoping for! Her daughters end up night liking him find out why in the podcast. It was one I couldn’t put down!

Couples therapy with Casey and Candice. They talk about their life and the therapy that they go through. It is newer and so far I have liked it. They keep it real and honest discussing their relationship and how to make it better.

Whine Down is with Jana Kramer and her good friend. They discuss a little of everything! Relationships, infertility, divorce, parenting, mediums, and sex. She has on guest and its great to just whine down and listen!

Let me know the ones you like and I will give them a try. Have you listened to any of the ones I listed?

Yogurt Bites

Last night Ethan and I made yogurt bites for my work pot luck today. They were super easy to make and yummy to eat!

So good I must share how/what we did!

What you need:

silicone ice trays

yogurt

fruit

Step 1: Cut up the fruit and put it in the ice trays.

Step 2: Put Yogurt in.

Step 3: Place in freezer for 2 hours.

Step 4: Push it out of the ice trays and ENJOY!!

Ethan used a zip lock bag and put a whole in the bottom for the yogurt to squirt out.

Hope you enjoy! Its super easy and good to eat when its so hot out.
